Two ways, one destination

Poverty doesn’t always mean the lack of money. Sometimes a person can have it enough but still feels uncomfortable or even unhappy in his or her life. Why don’t the Europeans want to go back to their developed countries? And why
don’t people from ex-soviet-union countries feel much better with Independence? Poverty can be not only in our wallets, but also in our minds.

Media workshops in Lublin

A Polish-German-Ukrainian workshops is in progress in Nasutów near Lublin. Young people are trying to express poverty and social exclusion problems through the artistic and media tools. Four groups are making fiction and documentary films, reports and photo collages.

Hello to all of our Art & Media partners in Europe for the Art & Media: Ways Out Of Poverty project.

We are an accessible community media project based in York, and we will be submitting media which challenges perspectives in poverty of inclusion and how arts based projects are inclusive and can include everyone.  We hope to share some positive films that combat inclusion that shine a light on our projects which enrich peoples lives.

Our first video from our home town in York, UK is as short video we made about the New Year Celebrations which take place every year at our very own Medieval Cathedral: The York Minster.
This short film was made on the night and edited in a few hours in January (which, thankfully, wasn’t quite as cold as December was here in the UK).

How Our Video Addresses Art & Media: Ways Out Of Poverty

We feel that for poverty to be overcome, a strong community of people who care and have a  genuine connection is a must.  This video, although it doesn’t contain any interviews is  an example of how York’s community gathers at The Minster every year to welcome the New Year together as one.
It’s also really good fun just to BE there.
